Chairs Don't Have to be Vertical for Bondage Fun

There is a certain allure to doing something safe, thinking nothing of it at the time and finding out later that it scared the crap out of the model. I think of a situation in terms of security and safety. I tied Angelique's wrists, ankles and knees tightly. I ropes her wrists and ankles to the chair thoroughly and tied her chest and elbows over the chair back. I welded her nicely to the piece of furniture and at no risk of falling. Even though I plugged her face with a huge ball and taped it in place tightly I could still make out the difference between her play-acting and her communications about comfort. I grabbed the chair by the back and seat firmly then slowly and carefully lowered her to the floor. It was slow, safe and, as I found out later, completely terrifying to Angelique.

Her perspective differed from mine greatly. She could barely move. Her elbows touched behind her back, and she was already losing feeling in her hands. The microfoam tape held not only the ball in her mouth but also a growing reservoir of saliva. Her vocalizations balanced making noise and keeping that pool of spit from hitting the back of her throat and causing a gag reflex. When I grabbed that chair the creaking noise that said "great video" to me said "holy shit this thing is going to fall apart!" She instinctively went to put her arms out to break her fall, but she could not. The restraint locked them to the chair. She couldn't even kick her legs out to help break her perceived fall. She shrieked automatically and felt her saliva hit the back of her throat. She started to cough and quickly fought back the tickle that could lead to gagging. The slow descent only prolonged her intense feeling that a rope or the chair would give way and send her crashing to the floor at any moment. My safely orchestrated move was a very intense experience for her indeed, and I had no clue that was the case.

I feel fortunate to have this footage. A part of this feeling is because this was the first video I ever shot with Angelique. This clip also highlights just what a perfect damsel Angelique is on film. She combines being feisty with helpless in a way I have never experienced. She can go from bitchy to whiny to wide-eyed and moaning in the blink of an eye. She is a rare case of loving a challenge but hating being restrained so tightly. There is no better damsel than someone who can loathe you while you tie her up, be genuinely concerned about what comes next while she is struggling and then tell you how awesome the challenge was while she questions you about what the next one might be. It brings out my creative side in the best way possible. Most importantly I am fortunate because this shoot is when I started falling in love with her. I could tell then I was off-balance, and I have been lucky to have her keeping me on my toes ever since. I have footage of the time I started to fall for the love of my life, and to me that is a very special thing indeed.

Gets a little intense after the sixth one doesn't it?

A lot has changed over the past several months. In addition to becoming woefully inadequate at updating my blog, I've started a great job ... nice pay and fun work! My goal for a long time has always to be able to work from my home and then move to a place with a lot of privacy, a separate space to turn into a true studio and get closer to more of a main-stream bondage community. This is a great area for bondage, but the number of models are slim-to-none and the producers are great but not very interested in collaboration. The word I hate comes up a lot, competition. I'm a firm believer that an artist or businessperson competes with themselves to create quality product. An environment where I hear that I am competition makes me realize that the love of the craft has become less important than the love of the dollar. I can't work with that mentality, so it's time to move to a place more in tine with my creative beliefs... with more models and producers willing to collaborate and an understanding that building relationships is the key to long-term success.

Angelique has been hard at work scoping out possible locations and she has zoned in on some sweet areas. When I start seeing 2000+ square feet on ten private acres and a separate finished space with 14 foot ceilings I start to drool. Imagine the bound damsels trying to escape through the woods, the ability to film vehicle sequences with ZERO chance of any police around and a fully dedicated space always set up for shooting. If someone stops by or Angelique decides its time to do a set, we just get dressed and get it done. No more hour-and-a-half of moving lights and prepping everything for a living room shoot.

As for Angelique she blew my mind the other day when she cranked out two of the toughest positions I've ever done. We started with a hogtie that was so tight her hands were pulled past her ankles, her breasts never touched the floor, her knees never touched the floor and she could barely even rock back and forth. It was strict restraint and tight bondage to the max. Oh, and she had a pair of panties stuffed in her mouth and taped in tightly with a full wrap around tape gag. The sweat pouring down her face tells everything about how difficult the position was. She wants to get tied up a lot more by me, and I'm looking forward to making her wish come true!

One of the few things I'll miss about this area when we move is that we'll be farther away from Candle Boxx. Although I've only worked with her once, I am entranced by her skills as a model and her ability to take a touch position. I almost immediately had her on the orgasm chair with a face packed full of cotton and wrapped with clear packing tape. We turned the hitachi on high and went for a excruciating ride where she orgasmed and squirted a dozen times. With each spasm it was obvious the strain of the repeated stimulation was was defeating her, and at the end she was a shaking, very wet and very satisfied young lady. She asked if I did something like that every shoot and when I said yes she got the biggest smile on her face!

How do you like your damsel dressed?

I put up a new poll today. Correction, I put up my first poll today. I view my work as adaptive and evolve my content and style based on what is selling the best and more importantly the many emails I receive about likes and dislikes. Looking at the number of views I've been getting I wanted to try putting up some polls to give everyone a chance to express what they prefer when it comes to damsel in distress video. I still want those emails to keep coming, but this could be a great way to quickly take the temperature of everyone when it comes to bondage material. The first poll as the title of this post indicates concerns the attire of damsels. I'm always asked why I don't do more nudes or more stockings or more costumes or more latex. I shoot what I think looks nice is the simple answer. If I know what people are looking for then I'll shoot more around those preferences. No need to vote if that's not your thing, but any I do receive bring me closer to what you are looking for in future content!

One of the categories of the poll is garters, hose and heels. My formative bondage years were in a time when that was frequently seen in bondage images and movies. I've always had a strong preference for it going back to the beginnings of my photography. In fact the beginning of my photography was almost always that with some panties thrown in from time to time. Some of my favorite movies and images of this attire come from the film loops of the late 70s and early 80s, and they had a lot of garters, hose and heels. Hell there was even a bondage magazine called that. A little bit back I decided to try my hand at reproducing that look and style. The elements that I needed were a vintage looking model, the constant thrashing of the model, slight graininess to the film stock, the slightly accelerated movement speed, the look of 8mm celluloid film and that wonderful soundtrack.

The model was easier than I expected. I worked with this gal that called herself Betty Page and showed up to a shoot with this tussled throwback hairstyle and showing me the vintage shoes she just got at a rummage sale. I always keep garters and hose on hand, but would she go for the idea? I had worked with her twice before and although the bondage was strict the content was very mild. I went through all the elements from those loops that I could think of and she didn't balk at any of them. I was elated: noose, vibrator, groping, topless and bottomless were all now on the table. My video idea was one step closer to being complete. I coached her about the movement, and she nailed it. Gagged with her own panties held in by a strap she was dragged in by a noose and her sometimes rhythmic, sometimes thrashing movements were perfect.

Betty had given me perfect emoting and perfect movement. She had pulled off the vintage look and the movement from those old 8mm loops like she'd done it a hundred times. I had my footage, but the rest was up to me. The graininess was easy even shooting on DV film instead of celluloid. You can do it in post-production or while filming. With Betty I decided to shoot the video slightly underexposed and then bring up the brightness in my editing software. The grain effect came out perfectly. The slightly accelerated movement speed of the film proved slightly more difficult. I tried a dozen things. I sped up the play speed. I removed frames. I used plugins. I posted in forums. Everything I did though made it play far too quickly or made the playback jerk and hitch. I spent days on this effect and it was a fail. I decided to work on the funk soundtrack to at least make some progress. I found a great royalty free CD for around $60 and grabbed it. The songs were wonderful and very similar to the music tracks heard on the videos made using those old loops. That's when a very cool thing happened. I turned off Betty's audio and turned on the funk track. She seemed to be moving slightly faster. I turned her audio back on and she was moving at normal speed. I though I was going crazy, but somehow she seems to thrash more quickly with no sound or with the funk soundtrack. I decided that there must be some brain mechanism that makes time perceptions change when detached from the auditory experience. Regardless of the reason, the effect was there. Three cheers for dumb luck!

The last element was the look of old film stock. Anyone who's seen these loops or has some old home movies knows that the film has scratches, dust, blotches and those crazy hairs that float around while you play the film. They have plugins for that, but I didn't like the looks I was getting. I went back to looking and found some videos of actual 8mm film and videos that people created artificially. The actual 8mm was a bit distracting. The borders jumped all over the place and quite frankly gave me a bit of a headache. That's not a good thing watching a bondage video. The artificial one looked great but was a bit repetitive which made it seem artificial. The easy answer was to just pick one and be done with it, but I'd come so far to compromise. Again, there was a happy accident. In testing things I had both the actual 8mm and the artificial 8mm overlaying the video. I'd turn on one and turn off the other, but I accidentally left both on once and it looked wonderful. So I trimmed out that annoying border and used both merged. This did two things. It resulted in the longest video render of my life, but more importantly it nailed the look of the old 8mm film I wanted.

With that Betty in The Priss was born. As an homage to those loops I kept the story similar. Betty was a prissy wife who scoffed and her husband's bondage desires. Just like those loops a masked antagonist is brought in to teach her a lesson and make her into a compliant bondage model and toy for her husband.

Life Imitating Art

In the days before camera and camcorder yours truly drew ... a lot. Splash pages, comic strips and portraits were my favorite artistic outlet and the scenes were often about tightly bound and gagged damsels in all sorts of dire predicaments. As the years went by I started photographing bondage scenes as reference for the drawings. As I discovered the creative outlet of images and video the drawing slowed down but I still see them in my work.

The drawing of the poor girl tied to the sign post was drawn far in advance of the video screenshot shown. If you turn the screenie upside down though and you'll notice they're basically the same. The positions, angles and style of restraints that I prefer far predate even the first time I tied anyone up. I owe my creativity almost entirely to that. Drawing gave me the ability to visualize restraints. If it doesn't look realistic or possible in a drawing then there's little chance it will work in real life. That's why I still sketch. If I can put it down on paper and it makes sense then I know I can find a way to realize it in the flesh.

At first glance it may appear to be coincidence. If you draw 100 drawings and photograph years of images and video you're bound to see similarities by pure chance. In fact that is very true and I see that all the time; however it's impossible that every drawing pops up some how in multiple videos. I'm fond of saying do what you love and you'll love what you do. My drawing and photography has always focused on what I enjoy. It's only natural that my subconscious would reproduce all of those sketches. If you think something is cool, you're going to see it pop up in your work form time to time without even knowing it.

Test complete!

I did it! When I started publishing material I made note of several things that were live or die indicators for any portal. One of the things I noted was a minimum amount of content. Another thing was video dimensions. You get the point. What would I need to do to actually get seen and get purchased.

Another list that I made was the "fan" list ... and by this I mean the bleep hits the fan list. Having made a ton of websites in the past, I know that the #1 reason people tank is lack of content and the #2 reason is lack of ability to update. With the holidays coming up and a trip to Vegas, I had a choice. Should I set up a number of updates for the time I'd be gone or should I do a little test.

Since I knew I needed to test some things I decided to forgo updates for a bit. I needed to know just how long it would take me to trickle out of sight. Slowly I dropped and it was agony not putting up some material, but I mustered forth. I figured this would be a couple days; to my surprise though it took 21 days for me to get pushed off the top 50 sites list on clips4sale. 3 WEEKS! I have to say that I am absolutely overwhelmed by how long that is for people to keep buying enough to keep my store showing up on that list. I am touched and thankful for the support.

With that test done, I now know that my material can weather what I used to call the 10-day storm. What happens if I get sick, or I have a family emergency or need a vacation. What happens if I can't get my updates done ahead of time? Now I know. As long as I keep putting up quality bondage with quality lighting that is TIGHT as a drum, I can outlast periodic small outages.

The good news is that tells me to keep going. The updates, the shooting and the editing are justified because the portal is sustainable. Thank you to all for your purchases and kind words. Thank you to all for bearing with me while I did my little test.

Now we can get back to regular updates :) This one is of Nyxon (who I see recently topped the bondage clips list at #1) in an escape sequence. I tied her up in thin rope, wrapped gauze over her ballgag and then left her to struggle without panties and with scissors in reach. I love escape sequences because the damsel has to work for it.
